The Planet We Live Upon

Okay, so here i am based in Kent, England. They call it the 'Garden of England', and in retrospect i can see why, it has beautiful landscapes and country sides. Now all this is very nice, but when you have the urge inside you to go and explore 'different environments', then in reality to me, the so called 'Garden of England' Kent, becomes a bore.

Now before i go around making blogs and posts about my world traveling, i have made an account of my visits to various places through out England and Wales, for walks, climbing and general traveling, getting to see all of what this country has to offer, in terms of natural beauty.

The Journey Begins....

Okay.......
Now obviously i had to prepare myself with some kit for the journey ahead of me. So i have compiled a list, remembering that i am a beginner, to conquest and get me through this journey comfortably.... ie not getting cold hands, or cold ears, having a nice sleep at camp, with a stonge in front of the fire, all be it a little bit of jack in my newly shined hip-flask that Wez has not got. Shame...... the heat helps, but as we all know that although maybe drinking whiskey in cold temperatures, we feel that warm sensation, it actually lowers our body temperature......... so no whiskey for me once i reach Everest!!
Anyway enough of the waffle, here is my kit:
  • North Face 60 litre Terra Rucksack Green
  • North Face WindWarmer Gloves
  • North Face Dry Fleece
  • North Face Sleeping bag comfort zone -29
  • North Face Faeces
  • Binoculars 42x20 (Wez can't see the sheep that i will be able to see, in detail.....)
  • Digital Camera for our picture diary for all you folks to have fantasies over wishing you were there at the summit.... of a very low mountain!!!
  • Sony Camcorder for our Journey Diary and Summit Views
  • 30 Litre Camel Back Hydration System for my water supply
  • 1 quick Pitch Gelert Pants Tent, very light thought, and i'm a tough cookie so no wind will blow me away...... lol
  • 1 Valium Tablet 10mg
  • a small bag of chronic for the camp fire chill session...... well deserved dont you agree??
Which brings me to think i need to get quiet a few more things after reading that back to myself, boots salomon's cozmic or berghaus ridge explorers, some craghoppers (trousers for all you amateur amateurs...) A big fuck of knife..... Machette? and a stove/gas (hope you taking all this in Wez!!!) and some secret protein supplies from Rhino's gym..... the best gym!! where they build big people!!! and some rizla.....
Thats about all for now, i'll be updating again as time goes by, but won't be attempting to put any pics up as they are far too big and Wez don't know how to sort that out.
Salad to the fish turds!!!!!! Out....

Only a week tomorrow and we will be in the Snowdonia mountain range. The sheer beautyness of the countryside alone will be breathtaking, and 827 miles of mountain landscapes, lakes, trees, life, clean air......
Besides that, we will be wanting to conquer
  • Scafell Pike in the Lake District, the highest mountain in UK at 978 metres, which compared to the likes of
  • Snowdon which is 1085 metres, its not far off. Snowdon being the King of Mountains in both UK and Wales, then we come to Scotland, the Highlands,
  • Ben Nevis 1344 metres to the summit and
  • The Munro's 914 metres summit range
This is our challenge to gain experience and fitness levels that will then enable us to go for the higher altitude peaks.
Cnicht which is probably the mountain we will set out for before Wez changes his mind and says yes lets go for Snowdon lol, has a summit peak of just 689m.
Cnicht is pronounced as 'knight' , named for its knight helmet shape peak, its a beginner mountain, lets hope the weather stays good.

I guess if you pick a good day, and strike it lucky with the weather, and your okay with altitude sickness, and physically fit, and mentally stable, it should be a breeze..... LOL
But then you can never tell, a storm can come out of no where, first you see in clear daylight the curve of the world, then you can't see more than a foot in front of you. Many lost lives have been taken by the mountain. The locals say it is cursed, and holy, and not for us to go and climb it. Then again many stories have formed, believe what you think is right is my way of thinking... the instinct, we all have it.  I use to be a preacher in my former life....
One part scares me about Everest is the un-roped ridge walk to the summit. Its everyone for them selves.  If you fall one side (i cant remember left or right) but you land in Tibet, if you fall the other side its Nepal, and its not a small drop either considering you are basically at the peak of a 8850metre high mountain!!!
Beware of the avalanche, frost bite, and altitude sickness, which usually kicks in above 3000m, don't quote me on that though.
Everest is the perfect height to test a humans body to its limit at over 8000m high, its hard to think straight, you will get confused tying up your shoe laces (lol i know they would be frozen anyway), temperatures so cold, u slip u die, if you have bare skin showing its frozen in seconds, frost bite, then chopped off, if you survive! just an example!!

The dream mountain to climb in my eyes.... Mount Everest. Apart from being the highest mountain above sea level on earth, it has views that can only be explained as 'we are at the top of the world' , the clouds are below, you can see the peaks on a clear day of the rest of the mountains in the Himalayan range. Normal air freight carriers and passenger planes fly at the same level as the peak of Everest, which stands at 8850m, 29,035ft high. I have day dreams of reaching the peak, and so my goal one day will be to achieve this and experience a view that i would die for. (Re: Rupert Kie Tinker 02/04/2010) There are over 120 corpses still not recovered and frozen on/in Everest. Some exhibitions can see the frozen ones which are now apart of the mountain.

This is the mountain the Radio one crew, Moyles, Fern Cotton, Cheryl Cole, and many more climbed for charity..... the only thing is they had (of course all the luxurious that BBC payed for) so in other words, easy. All we will have is a guide and my back pack and water. This is a mountain with a dangerous height for altitude sickness. The peak levels the Everest base camp which is around 5500m....
Mount Kilimanjaro summit 5585m The Highest Mountain in Africa!

wez

A couple of things we're thinking of doing..
1) Find out if we get more stoned at "high" altitude. By any chance, did anyone see what I did there?
2) Try and catch a fish from a stream or something using our portable fishing kit - if we can find where to get them.
3) Say hello to a Welzch man.
4) See who can build the best tool from wood or something using our new £45 hunter knives (see more on kit page) - what the hell else we goina use them for? - gutting a fizh? - maybe if we can find one and bottle up the courage (i'll let Ru do that but maybe I need to get to terms of the reality of .
5) In aid of the Website and in our search for wilderness try and find a place where we feel: hey we are actually in some wilderness here, I can smell it.
Yezzzzz - we will keep you posted on the results here providing we don't die of fizh poizon, yezzzzzz here, where.
